NBA Finals Preview: Is the Lake Show Back?

Can LeBron James deliver the Lakers their first championship in a decade against his old team?

It’s October, which can only mean one thing: playoff bas…. BASKETBALL?! That’s 2020 for ya. But here we are, with the Lakers and the Heat squaring off in front of nobody in Orlando, just how you drew it up back in February, right?

This terrible year got off to an ominous start when the world shockingly lost Lakers legend Kobe Bryant in late January. For a while, a lot of focus from the entire US was on the Lakers franchise. Until, of course, the world had bigger fish to fry in March.

So, who has the edge? From a sentimental perspective, I like the Heat. They are relishing the underdog role and they are, for lack of a better word, hot. But the Lakers have LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and seem to be hitting their stride at the right time. How can you go against L.A. in a time when they are playing for a fallen hero and possess the best player on the planet facing his old team? Prediction: Lakers in 6.
