NFL Week 10 Picks: I’m Off to a Nice Start!

Justin Fields is coming off an NFL record-setting day against the Dolphins in which he rushed for 178 yards, the most ever by a QB in a regular-season game. Can he keep it rolling against the Lions?

Alright, so by now my plan is obvious — wait long enough into the season to make picks to get a better understand of who teams really are. After a 3-1-1 start, it’s time for me to keep the momentum going here in Week 10. Let’s dive into some picks:

Last week/season: 3-1-1

Houston at New York Giants (-4.5)

This could be a trap spot for the Giants with the Lions looming before a short week trip to Dallas. The G-Men are still playing over their heads in my opinion at 6-2, and Houston, at 1-6-1, pulled off an upset of Tennessee in a similar spot last year. Not saying they’ll win outright, but I think New York will struggle to get a victory here if they get one at all. Pick: Texans.

Detroit at Chicago (-2.5)

Eventually, Justin FIelds’ legs have to lead Chicago to a victory. The Lions are coming off the high of a rare one-game winning streak and now must slow down Fields, who has put up big rushing numbers all year. I like the Bears to get a win here and end the Lions’ “streak”. Pick: Bears.

Indianapolis at Las Vegas (-4.5)

Jeff Saturday?! Wow, didn’t see that one coming. Josh McDaniels is about an easy of a coaching opponent for Saturday to have in his Colts debut, but the Raiders are totally desperate and the Colts are a complete mess, especially considering they’re sticking with Sam Ehlinger over Matt Ryan. Vegas eventually has to find the win column again, right? Pick: Raiders.

Arizona at L.A. Rams (-3)

The Rams always seem to have the upper hand in this matchup, and Kyler Murray might be out. If not now, it’s never for the 2022 Rams to be relevant. Pick: Rams.

Dallas (-4.5) at Green Bay

The Packers look awful, and the Cowboys are quietly one of the top teams in the NFC. It looks so obvious that it simply can’t be, so give me the Pack to at least hang tight as they desperately try to fend off a sixth straight loss. Pick: Packers.

L.A. Chargers at San Francisco (-7)

The first of two straight Sunday Night games for the Chargers thanks to flex scheduling, and the Chargers need to eventually win a game against a good team to prove they are the same old soft Chargers (they very well might be). I can never trust a Jimmy Garoppolo-led team in the long run, either, although the 49ers are likely to go farther than L.A. this year. Give me the Chargers to earn a cover in a closer-than-expected one here. Pick: Chargers.
