NFL Week 4 Picks: Can Broncos Find Win Column?

A little bit of a rocky start for me, but it’s still early. Let’s look at some picks here for Week 4:

Last week/season: 1-2

2018 record:            44-27

Kansas City (-7) at Detroit

This is Patrick Mahomes’ first NFL game indoors, but this may not be as easy as it looks. This looked like same old, same old for the Lions when they blew an 18-point lead and tied Arizona in Week 1, but they’ve responded with wins over two playoff teams from last year. I think the Chiefs should pull this one out, but I think dome-field advantage for the pesky Lions will keep this one tight. Pick: Lions.

Jacksonville at Denver (-3)

Everyone is probably on the Gardner Minshew bandwagon now, but the Broncos haven’t been as bad as their 0-3 record would indicate, in my opinion. With Jalen Ramsey possibly out the Broncos could find some success in the passing game, and that should be the difference. Pick: Broncos.

Minnesota at Chicago (-1.5)

This is a battle of two good teams with quarterbacks I just don’t trust. Kirk Cousins hasn’t attempted a fourth-quarter pass in two of his three games, and Mitchell Trubisky always looks skiddish. But both defenses are humming, and the Bears would like to have a good home performance after two straight road wins. Cousins has not delivered a signature road win in his 19-game Vikings tenure and I don’t think this is the spot where he’ll start. Pick: Bears.
