Lucky Week 13: Picking to Bounce Back

Antonio Brown and the Steelers are starting to find their groove, which could be bad news for the Giants in Week 13.

Okay, so instead of picking every single game every week, I figured it would be better for everyone if I narrowed it down to a few games I felt (relatively) confident in. So here goes for Week 13, after a sub par showing in Week 12:

Week 12: 4-7-2

Season: 14-11-2

Miami at Baltimore (-3.5)

It’s tough to pick against a team that has won six straight, and tough to pick in favor of a team that simply can’t close teams out. But the Ravens know this is a big one with trips to New England and Pittsburgh still looming, and at some point Miami has to come back to earth. It may only be a four-point margin, but I’ll take the Ravens in this spot. Pick: Ravens.

Philadelphia at Cincinnati (-2)

It looks like the wheels have come off for the Eagles, even though Carson Wentz has still played relatively well. But he isn’t the Carson Wentz of Weeks 1-3, and the Bengals desperately need a win at 3-7-1 and dealing with some key injuries. They are at home where they at least play like a competent football team, and Philly is on the road on a short week. Pick: Bengals.

Washington at Arizona (-2)

I’m taking another favorite who is down in the dumps. It’s time for Arizona to start resembling the team that was picked by some to go to the Super Bowl, and the Redskins may start to fade after a nice start. Pick: Cardinals.

New York Giants at Pittsburgh (-6.5)

The Steelers seem to do this every year, where they get off to a so-so start then tear it up in the second half. The Giants, simply put, are due to lose, as they are in a brutal part of their schedule that includes three straight games against playoff contenders. Big Ben vs. Eli could turn into Brown vs. Beckham, and the Steelers are starting to find their groove with a healthy trio of Big Ben, Bell, and Brown on offense. Pick: Steelers.

Indianapolis (-2) at New York Jets

Andrew Luck or no Andrew Luck, I don’t feel good about giving the Colts two points on the road, even against the lowly Jets. New York played with some moxie in nearly upsetting the Patriots last week, and will get up for this primetime game. It’s been a disappointing season for Gang Green, but this is their one moment to party like it’s 2015. Pick: Jets.
