MLB Best Bets for September 5, 2024

Bryan Woo has been one of the Mariners' most dependable pitchers this season when healthy and is looking to keep the Mariners afloat in the AL West today in Oakland.

Okay, well, two out of three normally ain’t bad, but since we’re talking parlays, I didn’t follow up my previous day’s genius, if you will. So time for a bounce back! Let’s look at a few good bets that you can potentially parlay (odds provided by DraftKings sportsbook):

Twins at Rays under 1.5 runs first inning (-425)

Time to run it back with a low-scoring first inning. Pablo Lopez has been rolling for the Twins and they need a bounce-back effort in the worst way. Day games theoretically should be better for betting any kind of unders, considering the quick turnaround and all. Since I got burned with the NRFI yesterday, playing it safe now with under 1.5

Mariners +2 at Athletics (-640)

Again, playing it safe here. Bryan Woo has been dependable when healthy, and even though Joey Estes has too, the Mariners are still desperately clinging to life in the AL West.

Mariners at Athletics under 10.5 (-315)

Since Woo and Estes are both solid, and the Mariners scored about a season’s-worth of runs (16) last night, the adjusted under (actual O/U is 7.5) feels like a solid choice.

Angels +2.5 at Rangers (-262)

Jack Kochanowicz had a great outing his last time out, and the Rangers are coming off 17 runs in two games. Their offense is good but could very well fall victim to the law of averages. That said, the Angels got 10 last night against the Dodgers, but that means their confidence level should be pretty high as well. Cody Bradford has pitched well of late too so it’s a little bit of a roll of the dice, but it’s a division game, so that serves as something of an equalizer.
