Alright, so Thanksgiving 2019 has come and gone, with me posting a PERFECT mark with my picks! Okay, so 1-0 doesn’t necessarily scream “prophet,” but I’ll take a winning mark as we hit the month of December.
Let me give a few picks for Sunday and Monday (more than one, I promise):
Thanksgiving: 1-0
Season: 9-8 (52.9%)
San Francisco at Baltimore (-5.5)
With weather expected to be a factor, this could make things even closer than I already expected. The Ravens can’t keep blowing everyone out, can they? Both of these teams can run, albeit in different styles, and San Francisco’s defensive line should be an equalizer to the phenomenon that is Lamar Jackson. Pick: 49ers.
New York Jets (-3) at Cincinnati
And back to the Red Rifle we go. Andy Dalton gets the call, and this Bengals team can’t possibly threaten 0-16, can it? I believe this is the day for Cincy, with Dalton back and a Jets team strutting just a little too much after three straight 34-point performances. Pick: Bengals.
New England (buying to -3 at -130) at Houston
Come on, only a 3.5-point spread for the mighty Pats? What’s even more of a lock here is the under on Texans points (20.5). New England has given up more than 14 points just once in 11 games, and still has a good chance to break the 2000 Ravens record for fewest points allowed (165). Houston has not stacked up well against good teams this year, most recently getting flattened by Baltimore two weeks ago. Pick: Patriots.
Minnesota at Seattle (-3)
What a Monday night game this should be. The Vikings, despite beating Dallas in its house a few weeks ago, still haven’t really had a signature road win, and I don’t expect this to be the spot against a red-hot Seattle team that has a division title and possibly homefield advantage within its sights. Minnesota’s D is good, but I don’t know if it can stop the runaway train that is Russell Wilson. Pick: Seahawks.
