Week 9 NFL Picks

Can P.J. Walker and the Panthers upset the Bengals in Cincinnati?

It’s time for me to get started eventually, right? So why not now? Let’s dive into a few spread picks for Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season:

Carolina at Cincinnati (-7)

Call me crazy, but I kind of like the way the Panthers are going here, and the Bengals just got embarrassed on Monday night and need to regroup quickly. I could see Carolina keeping this one close enough for the gentlemanly cover. Pick: Panthers.

Las Vegas at Jacksonville (buying to +3 at -135)

These are two heartbreak teams specializing in losing close games. Give me the Jaguars for no other reason than that I trust Doug Pederson more than Josh McDaniels. Pick: Jaguars.

Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5) at Atlanta

Two of the NFL’s all-time biggest choke franchises, so something has to give. I say the Chargers get the road win after Atlanta squeaked by with a lucky win against Carolina to put them in first place in the tepid NFC South. Pick: Chargers.

Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay (-3)

Well, Tom Brady lost three in a row for the first time since 2002. That year, he actually lost four straight. Could that happen again? I’m going to say no in a revenge game for the Bucs in a matchup of two extremely disappointing teams. Pick: Bucs.

Baltimore (-1.5) at New Orleans

A couple key injuries for the Saints have me worried, so I’m going with the Ravens in the building where they captured their most recent Super Bowl title in the 2012 season. Pick: Ravens.
